Cartridges

Hello vinyl lovers,

if you like vinyl you certainly will need them , if you are in to high end , or rather the
endless search for perfection then this might just help you out .

Over the years we have heard many systems ( SME turntable and Verdier Turntable )
and cartridges ( Van allaert Ortofon Sumiko )and turntables and cables and pre amps
and so on.
The problem is that very expensive MC are sometimes good and sometimes horrible ,
they are surely not consistent performers and are sensitive to many changes .
One of the most frequent problems is that the very expensive have extraordinary
qualities and flaws , yes big flaws so in my opinion a system should be balanced and
if it starts wrong you rarely get it right after .

Here is a selection of cartridges for those on a budget ( and those who are not i recommend

they use the Denon DL103 , it is actually to my ears the best sounding cartridge of all !!!!! )

I’ll start with the very best :

Moving Magnet has another big advantage that there are more good pre amps then MC
prepre available
So all in all i do recommend MM and the Shure range is a shure value .( they are very good too.)
As step up transformer i recommend the LL9206 , cheap and excellent.
Mini kit for this including pcb to mount it. ( = chassis + phono plugs + earthpoint + pcb + transformers )
(lots of pins) Step up ratio 1/10 or 1/20
for 199€ vat incl
